How to clean your RC car body before painting

Cleaning your RC car body before painting is an essential step to ensure that the paint adheres well and looks smooth. Here are some steps you can follow to clean your RC car body before painting:

  1. Remove any stickers or decals: Use a hairdryer or a heat gun to warm up the stickers or decals and then slowly peel them off. Use a plastic scraper to remove any adhesive residue.

  2. Wash the body: Use a mild soap and warm water to wash the body. Rinse it thoroughly with clean water and pat it dry with a clean towel.

  3. Remove any oil or grease: Use rubbing alcohol or a degreaser to remove any oil or grease from the body. Apply it to a clean cloth and wipe the surface of the body. Rinse it with clean water and pat it dry.

  4. Sand the body: Use a fine-grit sandpaper (around 400 grit) to lightly sand the body's surface. This will help the paint adhere better to the body.

  5. Clean the body again: Use a clean cloth and some rubbing alcohol to clean the body one last time before painting.

By following these steps, you can ensure that your RC car body is clean and ready for painting.
